Visuwords

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

A new online visual dictionary called visuwords.com is quite interesting to look at, and especially fun to watch it draw out its related words.  More general and generic terms like “religion” are more interesting than specific words like “Methodist”.

Duck Joke

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Guy walks into a bar with three ducks;  sits them on the bar and goes to the loo. The largest duck walks over to the bartender and says “Allow me to introduce myself;  I’m Huey.  I’m a duck.”

Quote of the Day

Friday, April 11th, 2008

The sky… is normally a dome of blending tints, and
the main tint is blue. By day the blue will pale
down into white where it touches the white of the
land, after sunset it has a new circumference —
orange, melting upwards into tenderest purple. But
the core of blue persists, and so it is by night.
Then the stars hang like lamps from the immense
vault.  The distance between the vault and them is
as nothing to the distance behind them, and that
farther distance, though beyond colour, last freed
itself from blue.

E. M. Forster, A Passage to India, 1924
