Twitter has always been a technology about mobile devices, and there are tons of apps for the iPhone that allow one to use twitter efficiently and easily. But for a site that is all about mobile usage, it’s mobile specific web site has been poor to say the least. that has finally changed.
The new mobile.twitter.com site is fast, clean, easy to use, and pretty much instantaneous. In fact, its speed at updating the twitter stream makes it preferable to the twitter clients in same ways,a s they update only every 5 or 10 minutes. Using the new mobile page the stream is updated as soon as you post, retweet, or refresh.
Does it replace Twitterrific (or Tweetie, or whatever iPhone client you use)? No, it certainly doesn’t. But it is a worthy alternative, especially if you are already in Safari and don’t want to switch back and forth between applications.
