Evangelical hatemonger keeps getting news coverage

The well known hate-monger, so-called Christian, Evangelical leader James “Gays are deviants” Dobson continues to get coverage in the main-stream media despite his borderline psychosis and well-documented record of hatred and intolerance.

Here’s one recent example.

If you don’t know who Dobson is, he is the anti-gay, anti-democrat, anti-American, anti-Constitution, anti-civil liberties ‘preacher’ who uses his ‘Focus on the Family” group to spread intolerance and continues in his attempts to criminalize homosexuality because it is a ’sin’. This is the same asshole who claimed that Spongebob Squarepants was an attempt by liberals to promote homosexuality.  Seriously.  This fruitcake makes Pat Robertson look nearly normal by comaprison. He also believes that the reduced rate of marriage in some Eurpoean countries is not because for many people marriage is an antiquated and largely meaningless religious ceremony, but because these countries legalised same-sex unions.  Evidently the oportunity for a homosexual marriage is simply too great a temptation and once homosexuals can be married, people, including I guess people who are otherwise heterosexuals, flock to those unions in place of ‘traditional’ marraiges.  A traditional marriage, by the way, is one in which the woman stays home, according to Dobson.  That’s right, none of that wymyn’s lib in Focus on the Family. Two-income ‘families’ are little better than Satan worshipping, blood-drinking, homosexuals in Dobson’s view.

He also, of course, wants tax-payers to help fund religious indoctrination centers — er, sorry, I mean schools — where children can be taught such things as that homosexualaity is evil and that the dinosaurs were vegetarians in the Garden of Eden.  No, seriously.

Wikipedia:

In 2007, Dobson was one of 25 evangelicals who called for the ouster of Rev. Richard Cizik from his position at the National Association of Evangelicals for taking a stance urging evangelicals to take global warming seriously.

Yeah, this is what Evanglicals in the US stand for: hatred, intolerance, exclusion, big business, and anti-environmental stances.  Nice group with the hater Dobson at their fore.

Many high-profile anti-gay evangelicals have been caught in homosexual trysts, so I await with some anticipation the ‘outing’ of Dobson, since I’m sure it must be coming.  Anyone who is that vehement about homosexuals has to have some deeply repressed ‘urges’ he’s ashamed of, right?

He calls Senator Obama a fruitcake for expressing a belief in a Christian faith that is accepting, inculsive, and forgiving.  These are words Dobson’s hate group doesn’t even know the meaning of. It is a constant source of shame for me that this evil man and his evil organization have found refuge in the same state I live in.  the only thing I can do is avoid Colorado Springs as much as possible, and avoid spending any of my money in El Paso County.  Sorry, I know therea re some very nice people there, but until they rise up and remove the cancer from their community I just can’t in good conscience spend my money there.

And yet the mainstream madia continues to give his hate-speech coverage, over and over again. And yet he insults them, claiming they are part of the ‘homosexual conspiracy’.

What a fucking git. Don’t believe me?  read what one of the co-founders of Focus on the Family had to say in a very public apology for that group’s actions.

“I apologize to the women of America for the sexist attitudes all-too-often displayed by James Dobson and the organization I helped found. I apologize to African Americans and other ethnic minorities who are concerned by the continuing vestiges of intolerance in the land and by the dangerous role James Dobson, a wealthy, powerful, white, heterosexual male, plays in promoting intolerance.

I apologize to lesbian and gay Americans who are demeaned and dehumanized on a regular basis by the false, irresponsible, and inflammatory rhetoric of James Dobson’s anti-gay radio and print materials.

I apologize to Jewish Americans as well as Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and atheist Americans who are also victims of the dangerous words and divisive political actions of James Dobson, who claims quite falsely that this is a “Christian nation” that should be “ruled” by fundamentalist Christians and their doctrines.”

Not my words.
