OK, time to make myself look silly. The book is fast approaching and the ‘tubes’ are alive with the sucking noises of people making predictions. Might as well join in.

  1. Voldemort dies
  2. Harry lives
  3. Snape Dies
  4. Lupin Dies
  5. Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Luna, and Neville survive
  6. At least one of the Weasley’s will die
  7. Neville defeats Bellatrix, possibly kills her
  8. Malfoy is redeemed
  9. RAB is Sirius’s brother
  10. Harry is NOT a horcrux, but his scar is.
  11. The last line of the book will be something along the lines of Harry looking at his forehead in the mirror an seeing himself without his scar.

Some of these are safer than others, of course. Voldemort has to die. There are only seven books, and we aren’t going to end a series with the Dark Lord in ascendancy. Harry living I base almost solely on the wording of the prophecy. My gut feeling is that he should die, but I think not based on the other books. The biggest prediction I have not made is about Snape and which side he was really working for. While I will be very disappointed if he was working for Voldemort the entire time, the burden of evidence is certainly leaning that way. I hope that we see Snape finally and irrefutably demonstrated to be fighting for the Order, possibly by putting himself in the way of Voldemort and Harry.

I’d hate to think that Harry’s dislike of Snape and insistence that he was evil would be proved out, but it’s certainly been a theme in the books that Harry is Right.
