New Series on BBC

A brilliant, and at times rather funny, series on BBC is Life on Mars, from the creators of the equally brilliant Spooks and Hustle. The show is at once a send-up of 1970’s cop shows and a excellent 1970’s cop show, an interesting balance between homage and ridicule. Worth finding a way to watch this one. John Simms, whom you may recognize as Bernard from 24 Hour Party People, stars. It is best to give nothing away about the plot, so find it, watch it, enjoy it. You will not be disappointed. Two episodes have aired to date and a total of eight are scheduled for what is hopefully only the first series.
